Ruaha Catholic University (RUCU) former Ruaha University College (RUCO)-Iringa invites applications from qualified Tanzanians and non-Tanzanians for admission to the diploma and certificate programmes offered by the University for the academic 2018/2019.
The Admission requirements for various programmes will be provided basing on both Old grading System (For candidates who completed secondary education from 2013 and before) and New grading System (For candidates who have completed secondary education from 2014 onwards).
(where A=5,B=4,C=3,D=2,E=1,S=0.5, for candidates who completed their A-level in the year 2013 and before and A=5,B+=4,B=3,C=2,D=1,E=0.5 for the candidates who have completed their A level in the year 2014 onwards)
REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION:
I: DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES
1iploma in Computer Science
(a)irect Entry:
A candidate must have a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) or EastAfrica Certificate of Education (EACE) (‘O’ level) with at least four passes in the following subjects: Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Geography, Computer studies and Mathematics including a pass in English.
An Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) with at least one principal pass.
(b):Equivalent Qualifications
O level certificate with four passes including Geography or Chemistry or Physics or Computer studies or Mathematics, English is a Must AND a one year certificate relevant to the programme.
2iploma in Law
A. Direct Entry Requirements
A candidate must have a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) or EastAfrica Certificate of Education (EACE) ‘O’ level with at least four passes, English is a MUST.
An Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) with at least one principal pass.
B .Equivalent Entry Requirements
O level certificate with four passes in which English is a must and a Certificate in Law or relevant with,at least,a second class pass level
3iploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences (DMLS)
(a)Direct Entry requirements:
A candidate must have a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) or EastAfrica Certificate of Education (EACE) with credit passes in Chemistry and Biology, a pass in Physics, English and Mathematics,A-Level Certificate is an added advantage.
(b)EquivalentQualifications:
The applicant should be a Medical Laboratory Assistant with at least 3 years of work experience and pass a Special Selection Examination set or recognized by RUCU e.g. the selection Examination of the Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS).
4iplomainPharmaceuticalSciences(DPS)
(a)DirectEntryrequirements:
A candidate must have a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with three(3) creditsin Biology, Chemistry, a pass inPhysics, English/Mathematics. A-Level Certificate is an added advantage.
The applicant should be a Pharmaceutical Assistant with at least 3 years of work experience and pass a Special Selection Examination set by RUCU.
5iploma in Business Administration
(a)Direct Entry requirements:
A candidate must have a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) or EastAfrica Certificate of Education (EACE) ‘O’ level with at least four passes including Bookkeeping or Commerce or Mathematics or Geography or Chemistry or Physics, English is a Must.
ii)Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination with one principal pass.
(b)Equivalent Qualifications:
A Certificate of Business Administration or relevant (one year)
6iploma in Library and InformationStudies(DLIS)
(a)Direct Entry requirements:
A candidate must have a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) or EastAfrica Certificate of Education (EACE) ‘O’ with at least four passes . English is a must.
Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination with at least one principal pass.
(b)Equivalent Qualifications:
The School Certificate of Secondary Education with at least four passes English is a must and A certificate in Library or Business Administration or relevant (with an average of a B pass).
II: CERTIFICATE PROGRAMMES
GENERAL ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS:
For all Certificate programmes one must have at least four passes (D) at O-level.
1. Certificatein Computer Science (CCS)
A candidate must have a Certificate of Secondary Education with at least four passes including Mathematics or Geography or Chemistry or Physics, English is a must.
2. Certificate in Medical Laboratory Sciences (CMLS)
A candidate must have a Certificate of Secondary Education (O-Level) with five passes in Biology, Physics, Chemistry, English and Mathematics.
3. Certificate in Law (CLAW)
A candidate must have a Certificate of Secondary Education with at least four passes English is a must.
4. Certificate in Business Administration
A candidate must have a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination(C.S.E.E) four passes subjects including Bookkeeping or Commerce or Mathematics or Geography or Chemistry or Physics, English Must.
5. Certificate in Library InformationStudies
A candidate must have a Certificate of Secondary Education with at least four passes English is a must.
6. Certificate in Pharmaceutical Sciences
A candidate must have a Certificate of Secondary Education with at least four passes Physics, Chemistry, Biology AND English or Mathematics.
